The YAEL-15 line
of taut wire perimeter intrusion detection systems combines the deterrent
properties of an actual physical barrier (fence) with a highly advanced intrusion
detection system.
Whenever displacing, lifting, climbing or cutting any of YAEL-15’s fence
wires makes an intrusion attempt, the system will generate an alarm which
will be displaced in the control room.
The YAEL-15 system uses a single, self-balancing analog sensor to monitor
all the fence wires installed at a section. The sensor is linked to all the
fence wires through a stainless steel collector wire, installed on a sensor
post, to which all the fence wires are mechanically clamped. A displacement
of any of the wires during an intrusion attempt causes a change in the tension
of the collector wire, which is translated by the sensor into an analog signal
proportional to the displacement. A microprocessor-based controller to initiate
alarms at the control room analyzes the signal. Despite the very high degree
of sensitivity and probability of detection, the YAEL-15 system has a very
low false alarm rate (FAR) of less than one alarm per three months per one
km, and remains unaffected by winds, rain, hail, snow, shifting of the soil,
etc.
In addition, the system is not triggered by forces of less than 7 kg (15 lbs.),
avoiding nuisance alarms caused by small animals, such as rabbits, birds,
cats or dogs.
The YAEL-15 self-balancing feature that allows it to operate even after severe
damage to the fence occurs assures continuous comprehensive surveillance of
the entire system. This important capability prevents any system downtime
and avoids the need for middle-of-the-night maintenance, even if wires are
cut during an intrusion attempt.
Whenever displacing, lifting, climbing or cutting any of the detecting wires
makes an intrusion attempt, the detectors immediately inform the system's
central control unit.
The YAEL-15 system can be installed at the customer's premises by the manufacturer
on a comprehensive turnkey basis as a stand-alone, wall-mounted or as an addition
to an existing structure. YAEL-15 can, as well, be supplied to the customer
in ready assemblies for self-mounting on the existing or specially designated
fence posts.
In the stand-alone configuration the YAEL-15 system can be mounted on a variety
of fence posts, including the standard angle iron, pipe or concrete post of
any size. When wall-mounted or as an addition to an existing structure, YAEL-15
can be installed as short posts, with or without outriggers.
A YAEL-15 system fence can follow the contour of nearly any terrain, and can
be any desired height and length.
